Choose a moment worth remembering

A daily diary does not need a special event. A morning view, a familiar meal, a child learning something new or the sound of a rainy walk can bring a day back to life. Choose a moment you would enjoy seeing again, rather than waiting for a perfect shot.

Open ClipMyDay on Android and record a clip or choose a photo or video you already have. Select the short part that tells the story: the smile after a joke may say more than the whole conversation. You can create a local diary without an account and select individual items through the Android photo picker.

Make the habit fit your day

Pick a time that is easy to remember, such as after dinner, and set a reminder if it helps. A one-second moment is a useful starting point, but your diary does not have to follow a rigid rule. Some days a still photo captures the memory better; on others a little more sound or movement matters.

ClipMyDay Free includes one project. Separate projects for everyday life and a family chapter require Pro. During closed testing, use your default project unless ClipMyDay already shows Pro access is active; do not make a real-money purchase to follow this guide. A brief caption and the correct date help you find a moment again.

Catch up when you miss a day

A gap is not a failure. Leave it empty, or open the calendar, choose a past day and select a photo or video that belongs there. Check the date and confirm it when the app cannot establish an exact match. You choose the memory; the app does not need to search your whole gallery to fill a gap.

If you have several missing days, pick the ones you actually want to remember. An honest, incomplete diary can be more useful than a hurried reconstruction. You can return to the remaining dates whenever you have time.

Turn a month into a recap

Open Studio or your project. Free includes This week and Latest 30 days; a calendar-month or custom range requires Pro. Start with Latest 30 days during closed testing unless ClipMyDay already shows Pro access is active. Review the moments in date order, preview the result and adjust framing or sound. Prepare a fresh preview after changes, then save it to your chosen destination.

Before changing phones or uninstalling, create a portable archive and keep a copy somewhere safe away from the phone. The archive is an unencrypted ZIP: anyone with access can read its contents. For the exact steps and restore precautions, visit the help centre.
